Arndt's Aroostook River Lodge and Campground should be considered your "Home away from Home". We're located in scenic & friendly Presque Isle, Maine in the northernmost region of Aroostook County. Our unique recreational camping facility offers the best in wild, native brook trout fishing, canoeing, big & small game hunting or just plain "family camping"! Your enjoyment of our establishment and the surrounding natural environment is of the utmost importance to us.

Arndt's Aroostook River Lodge and Campground is situated on the banks of the Aroostook River, just 4 miles from the commercial center of Presque Isle. Families staying at our campground can take canoe trips ranging from only a few miles for the novice, to overnight trips starting at the headwaters of the Aroostook River seventy miles away. We have a canoe livery and a shuttle service to take you upriver for a leisurely float back to the campground.

 

From our facilities you can pedal the rural roads of northern Maine or head off-road to tour logging roads in search of the majestic Moose! Northern Maine offers uncrowded roads which can make for highly enjoyable bicycle touring.

 

If fishing for native brook trout is your preference, you can fish in the tranquil Aroostook River which runs along our property or travel west toward Ashland and the "North Maine Woods" to fly-fish at a remote pond. We can arrange for competent guides to assist you, if you so desire.

 

If you're idea of relaxation is more in tune with playing a round or two of golf, you can simply go next door to the Presque Isle Country Club. The Country Club is a beautiful, gently rolling 18 hole course which is well maintained and open to the general public.

 

Our full service campground facilities include 55 R. V. sites, 20 tent sites, a 20 ft. X 40 ft. in-ground pool, a dump station, laundry & shower facility, campground store, a recreational hall and 26 full service sites with water, electric & sewer hook-ups. We also have a four person rental bunkhouse available at the campground. The bunkhouse features two double beds(no linens), a small corner table and an electric light. Water is only about 20 feet away, and bathroom facilities are available in our bath house, which is only a short walk.

Arndts Campground has 2 deluxe cabins, the RIVERVIEW and the TAMARACK and a renovated farmhouse, the HOMESTEAD for rent. These are open year round and are completely furnished with everything you will need during your stay. 

 

We maintain several remote cabins approximately 25 miles from our main lodge. These secluded camps are available for those outdoor enthusiasts that desire a wilderness experience when either hunting and fishing or just plain relaxing far away from it all!
